Frequently asked questions.

Clarity on how we work, what we treat, where we draw lines, and what your data does (and doesn’t) do.

How does the initial review work?keyboard_arrow_down

You take a structured symptom-pattern review that takes about five minutes. A licensed clinician reads your full intake before any visit is booked — not after. The output is a written interpretation of the pattern, not a checkbox plan.

Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?keyboard_arrow_down

No. A direct referral is not required. We can share clinical notes with your PCP at your request.

How long until I have a plan?keyboard_arrow_down

Timeline depends on whether labs or imaging are required. Straightforward cases receive a written plan within a few business days of the visit. Complex cases get an interim plan plus a clear diagnostic timeline.

Is the symptom-pattern review free?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. The initial review is $0 and includes the clinician read of your written intake. There is no charge if our care model is not the right fit and we direct you elsewhere.

What about labs and dispensed therapies?keyboard_arrow_down

Labs are billed separately by the partner laboratory. When a clinician determines a therapy is appropriate, FDA-approved options are dispensed by partner pharmacies at standard pharmacy cost; compounded options are available where clinically indicated and clearly labeled. See Pricing for the line-item breakdown.

When is Elia not the right care?keyboard_arrow_down

Acute, severe pelvic pain or sudden heavy bleeding; active psychiatric crises (call 988 or your nearest ER); undiagnosed breast masses; recent cardiovascular events. See the full per-lane red-flag list on Trust & safety.

What if I have one lane symptom but not another?keyboard_arrow_down

That’s the common case. Most patients arrive in two of the three patterns at once. The intake reads the overlap deliberately — we treat the cluster, not the loudest single symptom.

stethoscopeClinicians

Who reads my intake?keyboard_arrow_down

A licensed clinician with credentials in midlife and urogenital care. All clinicians are board-certified and state-licensed in the patient’s state of residence. Bios will be published as the team is publicly named — see the Clinician team page.

Will I see the same clinician for follow-up?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes when possible. Continuity of clinician is the default; you would only be reassigned for scheduling or specialization reasons, and you’ll be told why if so.

account_balanceCoverage and access

Is Elia covered by insurance?keyboard_arrow_down

Elia is cash-pay. The review and most clinician-recommended care is HSA/FSA eligible, and we provide itemized receipts and superbills for out-of-network reimbursement where applicable.

Why not just use Maven (or Progyny, or Gennev)?keyboard_arrow_down

Integrated care should not require an employer portal. If your employer offers Maven, Progyny, or Gennev and your symptoms are well-defined within their scope, the benefit is worth using. Elia is built for the women whose employers don’t offer it, or whose symptoms span multiple categories that benefit-platforms route through generalist channels.

Which states do you serve?keyboard_arrow_down

Currently CA, NY, TX, FL, IL, PA, OH, GA, MI, WA. More states pending regulatory approval. Full list on Trust & safety.

lockPrivacy

How is my medical data protected?keyboard_arrow_down

End-to-end encryption, HIPAA-aligned infrastructure, audited access controls. We do not, and will never, sell personal health information to third-party data brokers or advertisers. See Privacy.
